ITC has raised the MRP of some of its select cigarette brands, and packs with the new prices have started selling in the market.

The price of a pack of 20 ITC Classic Connect cigarettes is now 428 rupees. The pack earlier cost 390 rupees, meaning the price has gone up by about 9.74 percent, or around 38 rupees more per pack than before.

The company has also raised the price of a pack of 10 Gold Flake Super Star cigarettes. The pack earlier cost 79 rupees and now costs 89 rupees, an increase of about 12.6 percent. Both popular brands are now more expensive than before.

This is not the first such increase this year. Prices of these ITC brands have changed several times in 2026 already. In February, the price of Classic Connect rose from 300 rupees to 360 rupees and then to 390 rupees, meaning it was raised twice within the same year. The price of Gold Flake Super Star also rose in stages, from 59 rupees to 70 rupees and then to 79 rupees.

This continuing rise in cigarette prices is linked to a new tax regime coming into effect this year. From February 1, 2026, cigarettes and other tobacco products will attract 40 percent GST along with an additional production duty, adding further to the tax burden. To offset this higher tax burden, companies have raised prices across various categories. Packs with the new MRP have already started reaching several markets, and in places where they have not yet arrived, the new-priced packs will become available once existing stock runs out. In the coming days, cigarette packs are expected to be available only at the new, higher prices everywhere.
