Instagram keeps rolling out new features. After Reels, Stories and Notes, the company has introduced one that will let users make their profile look better than before.

Until now, if someone tagged you in a photo, it would only show up in the Tagged section, never on the main profile grid. Friends often took great photos, but there was no way to put them on the main profile, which sometimes made a profile look incomplete.

That problem is now over. Instagram has rolled out an update that lets users add a favourite tagged photo directly to the main grid. This will make profiles look more personal and appealing, with users keeping full control over which photo is shown.

The feature is simple to use. First, open the Instagram app on a mobile phone and go to your profile. Three tabs appear at the top of the profile; users need to tap the Tagged tab, marked with a person icon. This shows all the photos and videos in which others have tagged the user.

From that list, users can pick the photo they want on their main profile, such as a great photo from a wedding, a trip or with friends. After opening the photo, three dots at the top or some options at the bottom will appear. There, users will find an option called "Add to Profile Grid", and clicking it puts the photo on the main profile grid, visible to anyone who opens the profile.

The biggest advantage of this feature is that users can decorate their profile as they wish. Photos taken on someone else's phone often turn out better, and those can now be added to one's own profile too. Photos with friends will also show up in one place, making the profile more enjoyable to look at.

The feature will not be available to everyone at once. Only users whose app has been updated will see this option, and it may arrive later on some accounts. Users can check the Play Store to update the Instagram app and see if it has arrived.
