Greek chess player Stavroula Tsolakidou named Player of the Tournament
Stavroula Tsolakidou won Global Chess League Player of the Tournament and a Jawa All Stars 42 Bobber Silver Knight motorcycle.
Greek chess player Stavroula Tsolakidou has won the Player of the Tournament title at the fourth season of the Global Chess League 2026. She also received a Jawa All Stars 42 Bobber Silver Knight motorcycle as a prize. Stavroula is a FIDE International Master and Woman Grandmaster.
She was playing for the Ganges Grandmasters team in the tournament. Her outstanding performance helped the team win the Global Chess League title for the first time, which is why she was counted among the tournament's best players.
Stavroula did not have a good start to the tournament. Her win is considered special because of the way she came back after an early loss to reclaim her place. This remarkable comeback also earned her the nickname "Greek Goddess."
Classic Legends co-founder Anupam Thareja said Stavroula's journey was not just about winning, it was about much more than that. He said she faced an early loss, did not lose heart, and kept trying to reclaim her place. Thareja also said what impressed him most was that Stavroula shared her win with her team and acknowledged that an individual win is often backed by the whole team. According to him, this balance of individuality, belonging and team spirit is what defines the All Stars chapter. Thareja said the Silver Knight Bobber is meant to celebrate that same spirit and honour the player who truly embodies it.
The Jawa All Stars 42 Bobber Silver Knight was launched by Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra during the opening of the fourth season of the Global Chess League in Bengaluru. The motorcycle is a tribute to people who believe in themselves and also look out for those walking alongside them. Stavroula's journey in the tournament reflects that same spirit, making her the fitting first winner of the bike.
Stavroula's win and the Silver Knight Bobber she received are proof of what lies behind a champion: patience, courage and the strength to emerge stronger from setbacks. As the first winner of the Jawa All Stars 42 Bobber Silver Knight, Stavroula shows what being a true all-star means: someone who trusts their own moves, stays true to their principles, and carries those alongside them forward too.
