Marathi-style WhatsApp invite cards trend for Ganeshotsav guests
Families across Maharashtra are sending Marathi-style WhatsApp cards and messages inviting friends and relatives home for Ganeshotsav darshan.
Ganeshotsav is being celebrated across Maharashtra this year with the usual enthusiasm and devotion, in homes and at public mandals alike. Calling friends and relatives home for darshan after Bappa's arrival is an old tradition here, and this year Marathi-style invitation cards, attractive HD photos and WhatsApp messages are being widely used to invite family and close friends home.
Sending invitations through social media has become increasingly popular. WhatsApp groups and status updates are full of ready-made messages, ranging from auspicious verses to simple, direct invitation texts. Alongside invitations for Bappa's darshan, separate messages are also being sent for the arrival of Mahalakshmi, or Gauraai. These digital messages and designs, made to invite loved ones warmly, are drawing attention and adding to the festive cheer. The trend of digital invitations is proving effective in making the festival memorable with family and friends.
