A video of Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra bringing home a Ganesh idol on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi has gone viral on social media
Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated across the country on September 14, 2026. In Mumbai, several Bollywood celebrities install a Ganesh idol at home every year, and this year celebrities' homes have again begun preparations to welcome Bappa.
A day before Ganesh Chaturthi, on September 13, actor Shilpa Shetty welcomed Bappa home. Shilpa, along with husband Raj Kundra, brought the Ganesh idol home.
A video of Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra bringing Bappa home is going viral on social media. In the video, Shilpa is seen wearing a pistachio green suit. While taking the idol out of the car, she took off her slippers and welcomed the idol with full devotion.
The video shows Shilpa, along with Raj Kundra, carrying the idol into the house. Her simple yet devotion-filled look in the pistachio green suit is drawing attention. Taking off her slippers while removing the idol from the car, and then bringing Bappa home amid chants of "Ganpati Bappa Morya," made the moment special. Shilpa's happiness was clearly visible on her face.
Shilpa Shetty has deep faith in Bappa and celebrates Ganeshotsav with great enthusiasm with her family every year. However, in 2025, Ganeshotsav was not celebrated at her house due to a death in the family. As per custom, no worship is performed for 13 days following a death in the family, which is why Shilpa could not welcome Bappa last year.
This year, Ganraya has arrived at Shilpa's home again, bringing joy to the family. The video of Shilpa's welcome for Bappa is drawing a lot of attention from fans on social media.
Besides Shilpa Shetty, several other Bollywood actors also welcome Bappa home every year. Sonu Sood, Arpita Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kartik Aaryan, Shraddha Kapoor and Sonali Bendre are among the celebrities who celebrate Ganeshotsav with great enthusiasm. Television industry actors have also begun preparations to welcome Bappa.
Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty had visited the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, a few days earlier. In early August, the actor had shared glimpses of this spiritual trip on social media. Her pictures praying with folded hands in front of the temple had also been widely discussed at the time.
