34 Indian companies feature in Asia's top 100 best workplaces list

Thousands of companies operate worldwide, but a large survey was conducted to determine how good a company really is for its employees. The study included the experiences of nearly 89 lakh employees across Asia and the Middle East. Employees were asked about their trust in the company, leadership, work environment, encouragement of new ideas, the company's values and their overall experience. Based on this, a list of the top 100 companies was prepared.

According to Great Place To Work, the criterion for inclusion in the list is not the company's size or revenue but the genuine experience of its employees. Among large companies, the top 10 include Hilton, Marriott International, Cisco, AbbVie, DHL, InterContinental Hotels Group, Micro Technologies, TP, Accenture and Capella.

India's performance in the overall ranking was impressive. Among large companies, 34 Indian firms feature in the top 100 list. In addition, 6 Indian companies found a place in the list of small and medium-sized companies.

Prominent Indian companies in the large category include Flipkart Group, Infosys, HDFC Life Insurance, AU Small Finance Bank, Reliance Retail, Bajaj Finance, Max Healthcare, AYE Finance, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, Zensar Technologies, Experian, Edelweiss Life and HP Inc.

The 6 Indian small and medium-sized companies that found a place in the list are NIA Institutions, VAHDAM India, Chalet Hotels, Sterlite Renewable India, Kimball and LMS.

About 93 percent of employees at companies on the list said their company is a great place to work. The average Trust Index score was 91 percent. Employees gave particularly positive feedback on a safe office environment, welcoming new employees and treating everyone equally, with at least 95 percent of employees expressing a positive view on all these aspects.
