DRDO's CASDIC offers paid internship for engineering students, apply by October 11
Bengaluru's CASDIC centre will take 30 engineering and science students for a six month paid internship starting December 1
The Defence Research and Development Organisation has opened applications for a paid internship for engineering and science students. The internship will be at the Combat Aircraft Systems Development and Integration Centre, or CASDIC, in Bengaluru. A total of 30 students will be selected, and the internship will run for six months.
Of the seats, 12 are reserved for electrical and electronics and communication branches, 13 for computer science and information technology students, and 5 for mechanical engineering students. CASDIC is a major DRDO centre where students will get to work on technical projects and research.
Students in the final year of B.E. or B.Tech must have scored at least 7.5 CGPA in their last semester. Those pursuing an M.Sc in science must have at least 70 percent marks in their first year. Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time course at an institution recognised by AICTE or UGC, and must be no older than 25.
The internship is fully paid. Selected students will get a stipend of Rs 5,000 per month, adding up to a total of Rs 30,000 over the six months. Candidates will have to bear their own accommodation and living expenses in Bengaluru, so they are advised to check housing arrangements and costs before applying.
There will be no written exam for selection. Candidates will be chosen based on their past academic performance and an online interview. Selected candidates will be informed by email.
The last date to apply is October 11, 2026, and the internship will begin on December 1, 2026. The application format is given in the official notice. Candidates must send their application along with the required Reference/Request Letter, as per the rules, to hrd.casdic@gov.in.
Students who successfully complete the six month internship will get a certificate, for which they must complete the assigned project, submit a report and meet other conditions. A student who leaves the internship midway will not get the certificate or the remaining stipend.
It has also been made clear that completing the internship at DRDO or CASDIC does not guarantee a job. The notice states that CASDIC/DRDO will not be obliged to offer any employment after the internship. It should be seen only as an opportunity to gain practical experience and technical knowledge.
