Bike stolen in Nagpur recovered in Chandrapur, two arrested

Chandrapur's Local Crime Branch has seized a motorcycle stolen from Nagpur and arrested two accused in the case. Both live in Indiranagar and were trying to dispose of the bike.

The motorcycle seized by police is estimated to be worth around Rs 50,000. It is a Hero Honda Splendor Plus, registration number MP-20-MH-8135. Investigation showed the bike had been stolen from the area under Wadi police station in Nagpur district. A case had already been registered at Wadi police station under crime number 563/2026, under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The case began on 8 September 2026, when the sub-division squad of Chandrapur's Local Crime Branch received reliable information from an informer that two suspicious youths were moving around Chandrapur city trying to sell or hide a motorcycle. Acting on this, the police team swiftly laid a trap in the city and caught both suspects. When questioned and asked for the bike's papers, they could not give a satisfactory answer.

A detailed check by police revealed the vehicle had been stolen from the area of Wadi police station in Nagpur. Police then arrested Gopal alias Cobra Jeevan Malakar (27) and Yamla Tangaraj Korwan (35), both residents of Indiranagar, Chandrapur.

After completing the necessary legal procedure, Chandrapur police handed over the seized motorcycle and both accused to Wadi police in Nagpur for further investigation and action. The operation was carried out by the sub-division squad of Chandrapur's Local Crime Branch.
