Chhotu Singh: removing Awadhesh Narayan Singh could cost NDA power in Bihar
Former JD(U) leader Chhotu Singh warns that ousting Bihar Legislative Council chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh could threaten NDA's rule in the state.
Bihar politics is abuzz again. Chhotu Singh, a former JD(U) leader considered close to Nitish Kumar, has made a bold claim about the NDA government, saying that if Awadhesh Narayan Singh is removed as chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council, the NDA could lose power in the state.
Political circles have been discussing the possibility that the chairman's post could go to the JD(U). Amid this talk, Chhotu Singh took an aggressive stance and made the statement, triggering various speculations in Bihar's political corridors. However, this is his own political assessment or claim, not a firm conclusion about the NDA government's future.
Chhotu Singh also sharply targeted Neeraj Kumar, JD(U) Legislative Council member from the Patna Graduates constituency. He said clearly that he would not let Neeraj Kumar win the election from the Patna Teachers constituency under any circumstances. He also questioned why he himself was expelled from the party and removed from his post, saying that respect matters more to him than any position.
Making his point, Chhotu Singh also referred to Prashant Kishor's political journey. He said Prashant Kishor won the Bankipur assembly bypoll, opening the Jan Suraaj Party's account in the assembly. Following this win, discussions have also begun about changing political equations in Bihar.
Political equations have become more interesting with Anant Singh backing Dr. Anuj in the MLC election. It is being said that both Anant Singh and Neeraj Kumar were called to the party office for discussions. Meanwhile, Chhotu Singh was also seen campaigning for Dr. Anuj alongside Anant Singh. Chhotu Singh claims that whoever Anant Singh supports will become the MLC. He said Anant Singh has influence in society, and on this basis he openly opposed Neeraj Kumar's candidature.
Chhotu Singh also objected to statements attributed to Neeraj Kumar, targeting him over a remark that he would not be allowed to enter the JD(U) office. He also warned that he would bring more things to light in the coming days. With this, the tussle within JD(U) and the NDA's political equations are back in the headlines ahead of the Bihar Legislative Council election.
