Akanksha Chamola denies demanding Rs 10 crore alimony from Gaurav Khanna

Akanksha Chamola dismissed reports that she demanded Rs 10 crore in alimony from Gaurav Khanna, after the couple's separation and reports of an impending divorce had triggered widespread speculation.

The two have been living apart, and speculation about a divorce gained momentum after this became known. Amid this, a rumour spread rapidly on social media that Akanksha had demanded Rs 10 crore from Gaurav as alimony. Akanksha has now dismissed these claims outright.

Akanksha, who appeared on "Lock Upp 2," recently gave an interview to Mashable India. Asked about the talk of her demanding Rs 10 crore in alimony, she said in a lighthearted tone, "If I had asked for that and got it, I would not be sitting here today."

Speaking further about the rumours, she said, "If I really had that much money, I would have left this country a long time ago." With these words, she flatly denied the talk of demanding Rs 10 crore in alimony. Her response has since drawn considerable attention on social media.

Akanksha also hit back at trolls who had targeted her and Gaurav over their age gap. Some social media users had said Gaurav is 10 years older than her, and that Akanksha was looking for a "sugar daddy."

Responding to this trolling, Akanksha said men in their thirties, forties or fifties are called "sugar daddies." Referring to Gaurav, she said, "A man 10 years older cannot be a 'sugar daddy'."

Akanksha also addressed questions about her social media account. Her Instagram username still reads "Akanksha Gaurav Khanna," which had raised questions among users. She explained that she has been unable to change the username because of an issue with Meta. "Meta just does not change it," she said.

Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna married on 24 November 2016 in Kanpur in a three-day ceremony. During the premiere of "Locked Up: Truth or Dare," Akanksha had publicly spoken about their separation. She had said the two have been living apart for about a year, and clarified that the decision was mutual and there was no bitterness between them.
