Israeli strikes kill three Palestinians in Gaza despite ceasefire

Israeli air and drone strikes killed at least three Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip on Saturday. Those killed included the son of Munir al-Bursh, director general of Gaza's health ministry. Local health officials said several others were wounded in the strikes, which hit different parts of Gaza.

Basir al-Bursh was killed in a drone strike near the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Another strike hit the Shujaiya area of Gaza City. A girl who was wounded in Israeli gunfire near the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza also died.

A strike targeting a vehicle in the Sheikh Radwan area killed another Palestinian. These incidents have again raised serious questions about the safety of civilians in Gaza.

Israel and Hamas announced a ceasefire in October 2025. But air strikes, gunfire and drone strikes have continued intermittently in Gaza since then. According to Gaza health officials, hundreds of Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire took effect.

The Israeli military says some strikes targeted militants or members of armed groups. Palestinian officials have repeatedly raised concerns about civilian deaths.

The ongoing conflict has put Gaza's health system under heavy strain. According to local officials and relief organisations, hospitals face a severe shortage of medicines, fuel and rescue equipment.

Buildings across large parts of Gaza have been either completely destroyed or severely damaged. Thousands of families are living in temporary shelters. Amid these conditions, fresh strikes have created an atmosphere of fear among residents. Despite the ceasefire, violence has not stopped, deepening Gaza's humanitarian crisis further.
