Youth stabbed over old feud while having breakfast in Nagpur

A youth was stabbed in Nagpur's Yashodhara Nagar police station area while he had gone out for breakfast, in an attack linked to an old dispute. According to police, two accused first grabbed the youth by the throat and then stabbed him, injuring him. Police have arrested one of the accused, while the search for the second is still on.

The incident took place on the night of September 15 at Mangalwar Bazar in the Yashodhara Nagar police station area, in front of Fardeen Lawns. Police said the complainant, Mahenabuddin alias Rustam Siddiqui, had gone there with a friend to have breakfast. During this, the accused Sultan alias Tipu Irfan Ansari and Irfan Ansari also arrived at the spot.

Police said there had been a dispute between the complainant and the two accused for some time. It is said that Sultan Ansari had asked the husband of a woman living opposite the complainant's house to make him understand something. This woman had gone to the police station to file a complaint regarding her dispute, after which the matter escalated further.

It is alleged that over this old feud, Irfan Ansari grabbed the complainant by the throat while Sultan Ansari stabbed him with a knife he was carrying. The knife struck the youth near his ribs, injuring him.

After the attack, the injured Mahenabuddin was taken to Mayo Hospital for treatment. On receiving news of the incident, Yashodhara Nagar police began investigating the case.

Based on the complaint, Yashodhara Nagar police have registered a case under sections related to the attack. Police have arrested Sultan alias Tipu Irfan Ansari, while Irfan Ansari is still absconding and is being searched for.

Police said the complainant and the accused also have a prior criminal record. Police are also investigating the case from this angle and continuing to probe the remaining aspects of the incident.
