Tata Motors has increased prices of its popular compact electric SUV, the Tata Punch EV. The hike is part of a September 2026 price revision and ranges from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 depending on the battery pack and variant. After the increase, the Punch EV's ex-showroom price now starts at Rs 9.79 lakh and goes up to Rs 12.99 lakh.

Among variants with the 30 kWh battery, the Smart and Smart+ models have seen a price increase of Rs 10,000. The Smart 30 now costs Rs 9.79 lakh, while the Smart+ 30 is priced at Rs 10.39 lakh.

Meanwhile, the Smart+, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+ S variants with the larger 40 kWh battery have seen a price increase of Rs 20,000. This puts the 40 kWh models in a price range of Rs 11.19 lakh to Rs 12.99 lakh.

Tata Motors had announced that from September 2026 it would raise prices across its entire passenger vehicle range by up to Rs 25,000, and this is now reflected in the Punch EV as well. The Punch EV received a facelift this year, with changes to its exterior design and cabin. The SUV is smaller in size than the Nexon EV and is built specifically with urban customers in mind.

On range and performance, the Punch EV with the 30 kWh battery generates 87 bhp of power and 154 Nm of torque, while the 40 kWh version delivers 127 bhp and 154 Nm of torque. According to the company, the 30 kWh model has an ARAI range of 355 km, while the 40 kWh model's range goes up to 468 km. The larger battery makes the 40 kWh variant more attractive for long-distance travel, but with the new prices, customers will now have to choose between budget and range. The price hike will matter significantly for customers looking for a compact electric SUV for city driving.
