Son kills father over food dispute in Chandrapur's Chichbodi village
A 55-year-old man was beaten to death allegedly by his son over a dispute about food in Chandrapur district's Chichbodi village.
A dispute within a family over food turned deadly in Sawali taluka of Chandrapur district. In Chichbodi village, a quarrel between a father and son over food turned into an assault, killing the father on the spot. The deceased, 55, has been identified as Mukru Kawadu Malode. After the incident, the accused son, Dilip Malode, fled the house, and police are searching for him.
According to police, Mukru Malode, a resident of Chichbodi, and his 30-year-old son Dilip had been clashing repeatedly over food for the past few days. The two would frequently argue over routine matters related to daily meals, but on Saturday night the dispute turned more intense than before. Around 8 pm on Saturday, the two had another heated argument over the same issue. What began as a verbal quarrel quickly turned violent. In a fit of rage, Dilip picked up a stick lying in the house and began repeatedly hitting his father.
Mukru Malode suffered severe injuries to his head and other parts of his body in the attack. Badly wounded, he collapsed in a pool of blood. As word of the incident spread, it caused an uproar in the village and villagers gathered at the spot. On being informed, a team from Sawali police station rushed to Chichbodi, but by the time police arrived, Mukru Malode had died. As the father and son lived in the same house, the incident took place inside the home, causing a severe shock to other family members as well.
Police carried out a panchnama at the scene and took the body into custody. The body has been sent to the rural hospital for post-mortem examination. After attacking his father, the accused, Dilip Malode, fled the scene, and police have dispatched several teams to track him down. Sawali police have registered a case of murder in the matter, and further investigation is underway.
The killing, which took place inside the home over a routine matter like food, has caused a strong sense of shock in the Chichbodi area. No one had imagined that a minor dispute between father and son would take such an extreme turn, and villagers and relatives are expressing grief over the incident.
