Indian stock markets are likely to see a gap-down opening today, September 9, meaning the indices could open below the previous day's closing level. Given this, experts from various broking houses have advised investors to watch select stocks before entering the market.

Stocks investors can watch in today's session include NLC India, Coforge, HMA Agro Industries, Innoviz, Bank of Baroda, TCS, Raymond, Piramal Finance, Tata Communications and Enviro Infra Engineers. The list spans companies across different sectors, showing that experts are focused on various parts of the market for today's session.

Sumeet Bagadia of Choice Broking, Ganesh Dongre, senior manager of the technical research desk at Anand Rathi, and Shiju Koothupalakkal, senior manager of the technical research desk at Prabhudas Lilladher, have jointly recommended seven stocks for buying and selling in today's session. These include Lenskart Solutions Limited, Laurus Labs Limited, Godrej Consumer Products Limited, NTPC Limited, Siemens Energy India Limited, Finolex Cables Limited and Precision Wires India Limited. The three experts together compiled this list, and in their view these stocks could be suitable for buying or selling in today's session.

Separately, for those looking to invest with a horizon of one to six months, Pabitro Mukherjee, deputy vice president of the technical desk at Bajaj Broking, has given a different list. He has picked five stocks for the medium term: Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), Yatra Online, Apollo Micro Systems, IIFL Finance and the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI). This list is not for immediate trading but has been drawn up keeping in mind returns over the coming months.

In another piece of advice, Sumeet Bagadia, executive director of Choice Broking, has advised investors to watch five breakout stocks today: Hindustan Copper, Arvind, CCL Products India, HBL Engineering and LIC Housing Finance. Breakout stocks are those that have shown signs of moving beyond their usual price levels.

Overall, investors will be watching the movements of the Sensex and Nifty in today's session, and can weigh these stock lists suggested by experts for different time horizons and strategies while making their decisions.
