Xiaomi launches Skynomad SUV series, N90 Max offers up to 1,705 km range

Xiaomi is now expanding its footprint in the automobile sector after smartphones. The company has introduced its new Skynomad SUV range in China, including models named N70 and N90. Both vehicles are based on Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) technology. The company claims that a combination of a full charge and fuel can give these vehicles a combined range of up to 1,705 km.

The Skynomad range comes in four variants in total, including 5-seater, 7-seater and mobile studio configurations. The N70 Pro starts at RMB 209,900, which works out to about Rs 29.66 lakh. The top-spec variant, N90 Max Studio, is priced at RMB 299,900, or about Rs 42.38 lakh.

The N70 Pro gets a 52 kWh LFP battery, which offers an electric range of up to 351 km as per the CLTC standard. Its combined range is stated at up to 1,351 km. The N70 Max, on the other hand, gets a dual-motor AWD setup with a 76 kWh battery. This variant has an electric range of 505 km and a combined range of 1,461 km. It takes just 5.5 seconds to go from 0 to 100 kmph.

The larger N90 Max comes with a 7-seater layout. It measures 5,285 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,080 mm. This model also gets a 76 kWh battery, offering 464 km of electric range and 1,705 km of combined range. The top variant, N90 Max Studio, gets features such as an electric lifting roof, a platform for sleeping and a 220V power outlet.

Skynomad also impresses on features. It gets a large touchscreen, a separate screen for rear passengers, a refrigerator and a 25-speaker audio system. It also gets LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar and driving assistance technology based on the NVIDIA Thor-U chip. For safety, the N70 gets 9 airbags and the N90 Max gets 12 airbags.

The entire range has so far been launched only in China. There is no official word yet on its launch in India.
