Nagpur man held for running sex racket and MD drug peddling
Nagpur police arrested a man running a sex racket who was also peddling the drug MD to clients, and rescued a young woman.

A young man running a sex racket alongside MD drug peddling has been caught by police. A team from the SSB of Nagpur city police's crime branch arrested the man and rescued a young woman.
The accused, Manthan Gopal Thote (23), is a resident of Chandramani Nagar, Ajni. Manthan had been running the sex racket for about six months. He lured poor young women into his racket by promising them quick money, and sent them to clients.
Many clients who sought out women were also addicted to MD, and selling MD is highly profitable. His associate Kunal Yelekar is an MD peddler. With Kunal's help, Manthan began selling MD, supplying the drug to clients interested in the women.
The SSB got wind of this and contacted Manthan through a decoy customer. Manthan called the decoy customer to a spot near a library in Hanuman Nagar, Ajni. An SSB team led by PI Darshan Patil reached the spot. As soon as the decoy customer struck the deal, Manthan was taken into custody, and MD was recovered from him.
The SSB seized MD, a mobile phone and an Activa scooter along with other items worth Rs 1.18 lakh. The young woman found with him is a local resident. Police are searching for Manthan's associate Kunal.
Several others running sex rackets on lines similar to Manthan's are also selling MD, and police are proving weak in curbing the sale of MD.
