Sayani Gupta wins two awards in two days, for acting and direction

It has been a special week for actress Sayani Gupta. Within just two days, she won two awards, one for acting and one for direction, proving her talent both in front of and behind the camera.

At the 14th Indian Cine Film Festival 2026, Sayani won the Best Actress (Web Series) award for her performance in the fourth season of Four More Shots Please!. The same week, she was also honoured with the Best Director award for her directorial debut short film Aasmani.

Sayani played the bold investigative journalist Damini Rizvi Roy across all four seasons of Four More Shots Please!, a character whose journey touched on several important emotional and moral themes in the series. The Best Actress award for this role in the fourth and final season is seen as especially meaningful for Sayani, since Four More Shots Please! has now ended with its fourth season.

Besides acting, Sayani has now also stepped into direction. She won the Best Director award for her directorial debut short film Aasmani. Winning awards for both acting and direction within just a few days is being seen as an important milestone in Sayani's career, one award recognising her performance in front of the camera, the other honouring her creative work behind it.

Sayani Gupta has built a distinct identity in the world of acting by playing a wide range of characters, with Damini Rizvi Roy from Four More Shots Please! among her best known roles.
