YouTuber dresses as woman, rides at night in Delhi to test safety
A Delhi content creator disguised himself as a woman and rode around the city at night to test how safe women really are on the streets
Delhi has long been considered unsafe for women at night, an issue that remains a constant subject of debate. To test this reality, a Delhi-based content creator carried out an unusual social experiment. He disguised himself as a woman and rode around the city at night to see what the situation actually was on the ground.
The creator said several people stared at him as he passed by. He wore a dress and applied makeup on his face, while covering half his face with a scarf to hide his beard. He rode around on a bike for about two hours, capturing people's reactions on his phone camera. During this time, he also had a bad experience.
He said that while he was riding, an auto-rickshaw driver and some other drivers kept staring at him continuously. He said two men looked at him and then tried to approach him, following him. During the ride, another man came up to him and tried to talk to him.
The situation turned more serious when an auto-rickshaw driver started driving alongside his bike. According to the creator, as soon as the driver realised that a friend riding behind was filming the entire video, he immediately drove off with his auto-rickshaw. Sharing his experience, the creator said, "This is really scary. I think we should stop this."
The video was shared from an Instagram account named @bejaintle.
