Raigad: Minor girl repeatedly assaulted by acquaintances in Mhasla, five booked
Mhasla police in Raigad have booked five people, including two minors, after a 17 year old girl alleged repeated sexual assault by acquaintances.
A serious case has emerged from Mhasla taluka in Raigad district, where a 17 year old minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted repeatedly. Mhasla police have registered a case against five people in the matter. Of the five accused, two are said to be minors themselves. Police are reported to have taken the accused into custody.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, some boys known to her threatened and lured her before repeatedly assaulting her. In a related development involving another accused, the complaint states that construction work was underway at the girl's house between April and June 2026. During this period, a 40 year old mason is alleged to have forced his way into the house when no one else was present and assaulted her.
Following the complaint, Mhasla police registered crime number 131/2026. The accused have been booked under sections 64(2)(d) and 376(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with sections 4 and 6 of the POCSO Act. The case is being investigated further by Assistant Police Inspector Chavan of Mhasla police station.
This is not the first such incident reported from Mhasla taluka. On August 23, a case was registered over the assault of another minor girl. With a similar incident now surfacing within a month, there is concern in the area. Police are investigating the veracity of the allegations, the role of each accused and the full sequence of events. The identity of the minor victim has been withheld.
