Deccan police have arrested a gang that abducted a young man in Pune over a money dispute and beat him badly, injuring him. The incident took place between September 7 and 8 between Jangli Maharaj Road and Pimple Gurav. Those arrested by police have been identified as Gaurav Ramesh Kamble (30, resident of Ganjpeth), Sameer Sunil Mehta (38, resident of Shukrawar Peth), Riyan Rafiq Shaikh (54, resident of Ganjpeth) and Sandeep Nivrutti Gawde (45, resident of Ganjpeth). Police are still searching for two of their associates. The man who was abducted has been identified as Sandeep Sitaram Mengde (36, resident of Shivane, Pune), who filed a complaint at Deccan police station.
According to information received, complainant Sandeep Mengde lives in the Shivane area and had a monetary transaction with one of the accused. For this reason, the gang called him to the Jangli Maharaj Road area on September 7 and beat him. He was then forced into a car and taken to the Ganjpeth area, where he was abducted and beaten again. There, two mobile phones, a silver chain and a wallet with cash were snatched from him.
The gang then forced him into the car again and took him to a friend's house in the Pimple Gurav area, where he was beaten once more. Accused Gaurav Kamble attacked Sandeep's arm with a weapon, injuring him. When the complainant began shouting, the gang threatened to kill him. Police Inspector Ranjitsing Pardeshi is investigating the case.
