Nagpur boy, 14, abducted by neighbour after dispute, rescued in three hours

A domestic dispute in the Nandanvan police station area of Nagpur took a dangerous turn when a 14-year-old neighbour's boy was abducted over an old grudge. The accused called the boy's father and threatened to kill his son. On receiving the information, the Nagpur crime branch swung into action and, within three hours, arrested the accused and rescued the boy unharmed. Police identified the accused as Siddharth Arun Pillewan, a resident of Shastri Nagar, Nandanvan.

According to police, the root of the dispute was a quarrel between Siddharth and his wife, which escalated into an assault in which his wife was injured. The boy's father, showing humanity, took the injured woman to hospital and advised Siddharth not to let the matter escalate further. But Siddharth took offence at this. He saw the intervention as an insult and, seeking revenge, forcibly took his neighbour's 14-year-old son from his home.

After abducting the boy, Siddharth took him to NIT Garden. From there he called the boy's father and set a condition, saying that if his wife was not brought back home immediately, he would kill the boy. On hearing this, the family lost no time in informing the Nandanvan police and the crime branch of the entire matter.

Given the seriousness of the case, a team from Crime Branch Unit-4 immediately began investigating. Using technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, police traced the accused's location to the NIT Garden area. The police team then cordoned off the entire area and caught the accused, Siddharth Pillewan, red-handed. His two-wheeler was also seized from the spot. The boy has been handed over safely to his family, and further legal action is being carried out by the Nandanvan police.
