Nagpur: Man held for stalking, harassing former girlfriend in Pardi
A 31-year-old woman told Pardi police her ex-boyfriend stalked and harassed her even after their relationship ended.
A woman has filed a complaint against her former boyfriend in the jurisdiction of Pardi police station, alleging that he constantly stalked her, verbally abused her and caused her mental harassment, and also misbehaved with her. Acting on the complaint, Pardi police registered a case against the accused and arrested him.
According to police, the two had met in Bhandara in 2023, when the woman lived there. The woman is 31 years old and the accused, Akshay Kamble, is also 31. The two began a relationship after meeting in Bhandara.
The woman later moved to Nagpur in search of work and started living there. Police said Akshay grew suspicious of her after this. It is alleged that because of this suspicion he would verbally abuse and assault her, leaving her mentally distressed.
Fed up with the harassment, the woman eventually ended her relationship with Akshay. However, she alleged that even after the relationship ended, he did not stop stalking her and continued to harass her.
According to the complaint, in the early hours of September 16, the accused allegedly arrived at the woman's house in an intoxicated state and started banging loudly on the door. The woman told police that the accused had been repeatedly following her against her wishes, which left her frightened and under mental stress.
Based on her complaint, Pardi police registered a case against Akshay Kamble under the relevant sections and arrested him. Police are further investigating the matter.
Police said the accused has previously been named in cases related to assault. Police are also examining facts related to these earlier cases along with the current complaint.
