Palasdari-Khopoli route to see nightly rail blocks for two months

Central Railway has decided to carry out a major traffic and power block on the Palasdari-Khopoli section for the next two months to complete renewal of rail track slabs and other technical work. As a result, local train passengers travelling on this route at night and in the early hours may face some inconvenience during this period.

According to information received, the special block will begin on September 18 and continue for the next two months. It will be taken every week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 1.30 am to 4.30 am, a duration of three hours. During these three hours, all local services between Palasdari and Khopoli will remain suspended. According to information shared by Central Railway on its official Twitter handle, the block for track renewal (TSR) work will be taken from the night of September 18/19, 2026 (Friday/Saturday), every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 1.30 am to 4.30 am.

The block will directly affect suburban local services running between Karjat and Khopoli, with some trains cancelled fully and others partially. The Khopoli-Karjat local that leaves Khopoli at 12.30 am will be fully cancelled during this period. On the other hand, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)-Khopoli local that leaves CSMT at 11.18 pm will now run only up to Karjat station; the service will not be available between Karjat and Khopoli.

The timetable for passengers has also been clarified. Before the block begins, the local leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 10.57 pm will be the last local towards Khopoli, while the local leaving Khopoli at 11.20 pm will be the last local towards Karjat. After the block ends, the local leaving Karjat at 5.43 am will be the first local towards Khopoli, and the local leaving Khopoli at 4.50 am will be the first local towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

The railways have said that for the next two months, passengers and citizens travelling on the Palasdari-Khopoli route at night every Thursday, Friday and Saturday should plan their journey according to this revised timetable issued by the railways, so as to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
