NTA shifts head office to Minto Road, Delhi; issues new address
The National Testing Agency has moved its main office to Minto Road, New Delhi, and asked students and institutions to update their records.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has shifted its main office to a new location. The agency has appealed to all candidates, students, educational institutions, stakeholders, service providers and the general public to note its new address and make the necessary changes in their records.
According to information issued by the NTA, the agency's office has now shifted to the government complex on Minto Road in New Delhi. Anyone who needs to contact the NTA for any official correspondence or work going forward will have to use this new address.
The NTA's new address is: National Testing Agency, 5th Floor, Bharat Sarkar Press Building, Minto Road, New Delhi-110002. To avoid any difficulty in official paperwork going forward, the NTA has appealed to all students and institutions to update this address in their records.
The question now is what the NTA actually is and what its main work involves. The National Testing Agency is a government body under the Ministry of Education that conducts several major entrance and eligibility examinations in the country.
Among the main tasks handled by the NTA is JEE Main, the national-level examination for admission to engineering courses. There is also NEET-UG, the examination for admission to medical courses. Under CUET-UG and CUET-PG, the Common University Entrance Test is conducted for admission to central and other universities. UGC-NET is the examination that determines eligibility for the post of assistant professor and for JRF in colleges and universities. Besides these, the NTA also conducts CMAT and GPAT as national-level examinations in the management and pharmacy fields.
The NTA is also responsible for the entire management related to these examinations, that is, the process of filling forms, issuing admit cards, planning exam centres, computer-based tests, answer keys and finally declaring results.
In short, the NTA does not grant admissions directly, but it is the agency responsible for conducting the country's key entrance and eligibility examinations in a transparent manner.
