If you are planning to start your own business, it is important to understand some basic points first. Often people jump straight into a business purely out of enthusiasm, without properly studying the market or making any prior preparation, and later face failure. That is why, whether the business is small or large, certain fundamentals must be kept in mind, or the capital invested can be lost.

The first point is the market network. A strong network is essential for your product to reach the market and customers. If you are a first-generation entrepreneur, that is, stepping into business for the first time, building connections and a network with customers becomes even more important. This requires building contact with investors, buyers, traders and the general public, and forming good working relationships with all of them. Once the business is started, even a small but loyal customer base proves beneficial in the long run.

The second important point is understanding market demand and competition. Many people start a business simply because someone else's similar business is doing well. But that does not always turn out to be the right decision. Someone else's business doing well does not mean yours will do the same. So a business should be started based on what people actually need. In the beginning, work with a lower margin, as this will strengthen the network, increase demand and keep the supply rate steady as well.

The third point is maintaining a working capital reserve, meaning a fund that can meet your current business needs. For instance, if your shop needs stock or raw material worth 1 lakh rupees, 1 lakh rupees for staff salaries, 50,000 rupees for the electricity bill, and 50,000 rupees for registration and other expenses, then adding all this up, you should have a working capital reserve of 3 lakh rupees. You need to have working capital equal to the amount you are putting into the business, so that the business is not affected even if credit payments get stuck or cash gets held up. This planning should be done for at least the next three months.

The fourth point is online marketing. Whether the business is small or large, it is important to know exactly where and how to invest money, and setting aside a part of it for marketing is essential. It is important for your business to have a presence on social media, as this helps attract more customers, gather customer feedback and promote the product.
