In the Nandanvan police station area of Nagpur, a man angered by a domestic dispute took away a 14-year-old boy and then called the boy's father, threatening to kill the child. As soon as the complaint reached the crime branch, it swung into action and caught the accused within just three hours from the NIT Garden premises. Police have safely recovered the boy.
The arrested accused has been identified as Siddharth Arun Pillewan, a resident of Shastrinagar, Nandanvan. According to police, the dispute began with a quarrel between Siddharth and his wife. The two also came to blows, after which the boy's father took Siddharth's wife to hospital for treatment. During this, he had advised Siddharth not to let the dispute escalate. This did not sit well with Siddharth, and he decided to vent his anger on the 14-year-old boy. Police say he allegedly lured the boy away with him.
Siddharth took the boy straight to NIT Garden. From there, he called the boy's father and told him to bring his wife back home immediately. He allegedly gave a clear threat that if his wife was not brought home, harm could come to the boy. As soon as this reached the police, Unit 4 of the crime branch immediately began investigating. The police team started tracing the accused's location with technical assistance as well as information from an informer.
Within a short time, police learnt that Siddharth was still present at the NIT Garden premises. The team then cordoned off the area and caught him. Police have also seized the two-wheeler in the accused's possession. According to police, the accused was located and arrested within about three hours of the complaint being registered. The family breathed a sigh of relief at the boy's safe recovery. The case is being investigated further by Nandanvan police.
