A factory owner in Nagpur's Kamptee tehsil hanged himself inside his own factory after a dispute with his wife over money he had transferred to a woman worker employed there. Based on a suicide note found at the scene, New Kamptee police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the worker.

The deceased has been identified as Pramod Ramteke, 55, a resident of Yerkheda in Kamptee tehsil. Pramod ran a chakli-making factory under the name Reena Foods. He hanged himself inside the factory on August 25.

Police investigation found that a day before the incident, Pramod had transferred Rs 2,000 online to the account of Kamini Donarkar, 35, a woman who worked at his factory. Kamini called Pramod's wife, Reena, and told her about the transfer. She also warned that if money was transferred to her again, she would file a police complaint against Pramod.

On learning this, Reena began questioning her husband about the money. Pramod reportedly told his wife that the amount was meant for someone else and had been sent to Kamini's account by mistake. Despite this explanation, the dispute between the couple escalated.

After the incident, police recovered a suicide note written by Pramod. In the note, he wrote that Kamini had informed his wife about the money transfer, leading to the dispute between him and his wife. He also accused Kamini of driving him to suicide.

Based on the suicide note and the facts that emerged during the investigation, New Kamptee police registered a case of abetment to suicide against Kamini Donarkar on Friday. Police are investigating other aspects of the case.
