MPSC clerk-typist recruits can now be posted anywhere in Maharashtra
A new policy ends fixed department or district postings for MPSC clerk-typist recruits, allowing placement anywhere in the state.

Candidates hoping for a government job through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) have a major update. Those selected for the clerk-typist post under the MPSC Group C examination will no longer be restricted to appointment in one fixed department or district. They will now be posted anywhere in Maharashtra where vacancies exist. The Registration and Stamps Department has issued an official clarification on this, which will provide new staff to government offices across the state.
The commission has successfully conducted the Maharashtra Group C Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2025 (advertisement number 124/2025) and the Maharashtra Group C Services Main Examination 2025 (advertisement number 014/2026). This new policy will be highly relevant for successful candidates from these two examinations who are awaiting the final result. Deputy Inspector General of Registration (Headquarters) Udayraj Chavan has appealed to all concerned candidates to take note of this change.
Under the new decision, candidates will gain valuable experience of working in different districts and government departments across the state, instead of being limited to one fixed office. The main objective is to bring coordination to administrative functioning and to fill vacant clerk-typist posts across all districts as quickly as possible. Postings will be given to candidates based on merit and administrative requirements across the state, in a transparent manner.
The policy is expected to widen candidates' career scope and speed up government functioning in both rural and urban areas. Some departments often face staff shortages, which delays work for the public. The new statewide joint appointment system is meant to allow proper manpower planning and address the problem of vacant posts.
The administration has appealed to all eligible candidates awaiting final selection to familiarise themselves with the new policy and be mentally prepared for the process ahead. The decision gives new candidates the opportunity to experience a wider scope of state service from the outset.
