Dispute over banned persons entering Manikgarh mine despite court order
Workers at UltraTech's Manikgarh mine allege court-barred persons are still entering the site, raising security concerns.
Tension has gripped workers and their families at UltraTech Cement's Manikgarh mine following days of protests and disputes, with a fresh controversy now erupting over entry through the mine's gate.
A few days ago, Abid Ali and his associates had staged a protest at the mine gate. During the protest, the Rajura tehsildar, the Gadchandur police department and the divisional officer of Devhada reached the spot and prepared a panchnama. According to information received, the panchnama stated that, as per a court order, 21 people were barred from entering through the mine gate, while the gate was kept open for the rest of the villagers.
Despite this, it is alleged that some of the 21 banned individuals are still entering the mine premises. Among them are Bhaurao Kinnake and Ramdas Magam. There are also reports of clashes with security guards and staff over entry, raising questions about the mine's security arrangements and the company's operations.
The biggest question is who will ensure compliance if the panchnama and the court order clearly bar certain people from entry. All eyes are now on what action the local administration and the concerned government department take in the matter.
The ongoing protests, disputes and the entry ban are directly affecting the mental stress of mine workers and their families. Workers say it is the administration's responsibility to maintain a peaceful and safe environment on the company premises and ensure the security of their families.
As a result, all families living in the mine colony are under tension and are demanding security from the local administration.
Copies of the Rajura tehsildar's panchnama, the court order and photographs of the alleged banned individuals entering the mine premises are being presented as evidence. Based on these documents and photographs, a demand is being made for the administration to conduct an impartial investigation and ensure compliance with the court order and government directives.
The question now is when action will be taken over the alleged entry of banned individuals, when both the order and the panchnama exist.
