India beat Bangladesh by 40 runs to reach 10th straight Women's Asia Cup final

The ACC Women's Asia Cup 2026 semi-final between India and Bangladesh was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first, sending India in to bat.

Despite winning the toss, Bangladesh made early inroads. In-form opener Smriti Mandhana was out for just 2 runs. Number three Pratika Rawal could manage only 20 runs off 24 balls. But star opener Shafali Verma played a stellar innings, smashing 64 runs off 40 balls. Batting at a strike rate of 160, she hit 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur made just 24 runs off 28 balls before returning to the pavilion. Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh scored 21 runs. Deepti Sharma, who came in to bat in the last two overs, made 13 runs off just six balls to help India reach 149 in 20 overs. Sultana Khatun took two wickets for Bangladesh.

Chasing a target of 150, Bangladesh's women got off to a good start, but Shree Charani brought India back into the game. After that, the Indian bowlers did not let Bangladesh gain the upper hand. Bangladesh opener Dilara Akter scored 21 runs, while Shobhana Mostary added 18 runs. Captain Nigar Sultana also scored 19 runs, after which Shorna Akter remained unbeaten on 22. Deepti Sharma took 3 wickets, while Nandini Sharma also picked up 2 wickets. Shree Charani and Prema Rawat took one wicket each.

Bangladesh could manage only 109 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, handing India a 40-run victory. With this win, Harmanpreet Kaur's team has sealed its place in the final.

India will face either Sri Lanka or Pakistan in the final, which will be played this Sunday.
