Maharashtra releases second MBBS-BDS merit list, 10,938 students get admission seats

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell, or CET Cell, has released the second list for the centralised admission process for state quota MBBS and BDS degree courses under medical education for the 2026-27 academic year. Of the total 11,196 seats across both courses, this second list has offered admission to 10,938 students, while 258 seats remain vacant.

The seats have been offered across government colleges, private colleges and private universities combined. Full details of how many students got seats in each stream have been released.

In MBBS, 8,442 students will get admission. Of the total 8,579 seats available in the state for the second list of the MBBS course, 8,442 students have got a chance at admission. Of these, 4,910 students got seats in government colleges, 3,149 in private colleges and 383 in private universities.

In BDS, 2,496 students will get admission. Of the total 2,617 seats available in the state for the second list of the BDS course, 2,496 students have got a chance at admission. Of these, 302 students got seats in government colleges, 2,113 in private colleges and 81 in private universities.

The CET Cell has also given information on the process ahead. Students who have been allotted a college in the second round must personally visit the allotted college and confirm admission between September 13 and September 18, 2026 -- except on September 14, 2026 -- by 5.30 pm, along with the necessary original documents and a demand draft for the required fee.

Fee payment by cheque will be permitted on days when banks are closed, but it must be replaced with a demand draft on the next working day. The CET Cell has said that if a candidate fails to submit the demand draft on the next working day, the admission may be cancelled.
