Jio launches Rs 449 family postpaid plan covering four SIM cards

Smartphone and digital service usage is rising every day, which means separate recharges for each family member add up in cost. Jio has launched a new postpaid plan aimed at cutting this expense for families.

The plan is priced at Rs 449 and allows a main connection plus SIM cards for three more family members under the same plan. It is part of Jio's family postpaid category, JioPlus. The basic Rs 449 plan comes with one primary SIM card, and up to three additional SIM cards can be added for other family members.

Each additional SIM card costs Rs 150 extra per month. Running four SIM cards together would cost Rs 899 a month (Rs 449 plus Rs 150 multiplied by three). That works out to around Rs 225 per SIM card a month, less than what each member would pay recharging separately.

On data, the Rs 449 family postpaid plan gives the primary user 75GB of shared data. For every additional SIM connection activated, 5GB of extra data is added to the family pool. With three additional SIM cards, that adds 15GB extra, taking the total data pool to 90GB, which all family members can share according to their needs.

The plan also includes 5G network access, with Jio's unlimited 5G data available at no extra charge for a better speed experience. Along with data, the family postpaid plan includes voice calling and messaging. All four SIM users on the plan get unlimited calling and STD calling to any network across the country.

National roaming is completely free, so there are no separate roaming charges anywhere in the country. Each SIM user also gets 100 free national SMS per day.
