To prevent law and order problems and curb rising crime in Hinganghat city, police inspector Anil Raut of Hinganghat police station prepared action against habitual offenders involved in organised illegal liquor sales and crimes against the person in the city.

Three names were included in this action: Akash alias Nimbu Amar Teltumbde (26), Jagdish Amar Teltumbde (29) and Ajay Dnyaneshwar Matkar (47). All three are residents of Sant Chokhoba Ward, Hinganghat. Proposals against the three were prepared under Section 55 of the Maharashtra Police Act and sent through sub-divisional police officer, Hinganghat, Sushilkumar Nayak, to the superintendent of police, Wardha, for approval.

Superintendent of police, Wardha, Saurabh Kumar Agrawal approved the proposal on September 17, 2026, and ordered the externment of the three offenders from Wardha district for two years.

Action was also taken against another habitual offender, Sujit Ashokrao Gawande, a resident of Sant Kabir Ward, Hinganghat, involved in the sale of narcotics, illegal liquor sales and crimes against women. A proposal against him was prepared under Section 56 and sent to the sub-divisional officer, Hinganghat, for approval. The sub-divisional officer, Hinganghat, also approved the proposal on September 17, 2026, ordering his externment from Wardha district for seven days.

With this, a total of four habitual offenders from Hinganghat city have been externed from Wardha district. The police action has caused unease among the city's other habitual offenders and is expected to help maintain peace during the upcoming festivals in Hinganghat city.

The entire operation was carried out by police inspector Anil Raut of Hinganghat police station under the guidance of additional superintendent of police Sadashiv Waghmare and sub-divisional police officer, Hinganghat, Sushilkumar Nayak. Police havildar Pravin Deshmukh and police constables Sangram Munde, Shivshankar Yadav and Santosh Lohate assisted in the operation.
