Guardian minister opens rural hospital in Ghugus, relief for 50,000

A major project under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan has been completed in Ghugus, in Chandrapur district. The newly built, well-equipped rural hospital was handed over to the public by guardian minister Prof. Dr. Ashok Uike. MLA Kishor Jorgewar, MLA Devrao Bhongle and MLA Karan Deotale were among those present at the inauguration ceremony.

With the hospital now operational, more than 50,000 people from Ghugus and the surrounding area will no longer need to repeatedly travel to Chandrapur city for immediate treatment. Good healthcare facilities will now be available locally.

Speaking at the event, MLA Kishor Jorgewar said he had persistently pushed to ensure healthcare facilities for the people of Ghugus. He said that with the rural hospital now operational, residents would no longer need to make repeated trips to Chandrapur for treatment. Jorgewar said he had continuously worked for all-round development of Ghugus, which has a population of more than 50,000, and that the municipal council, the flyover and now the rural hospital had given the town's development a new direction.

Besides guardian minister Dr. Prof. Ashok Uike, MLA Devrao Bhongle, MLA Karan Deotale, public representatives, officials, office-bearers and a large number of citizens were present at the inauguration held under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. With the hospital operational, healthcare facilities will now be available locally in Ghugus and the surrounding area, significantly reducing the difficulty of having to travel to Chandrapur city for treatment.

Jorgewar further said he had persistently pushed for a rural hospital to be set up in Ghugus. Given the growing population and people's healthcare needs, a proper healthcare facility was necessary there. With the hospital now actually in service, people of Ghugus and the surrounding area will benefit greatly, particularly by needing to travel to Chandrapur less often for immediate treatment, with healthcare available locally instead.

Referring to the overall development of Ghugus, Jorgewar said that for many years the town's administration was run through the gram panchayat. But despite having a population of more than 50,000, the town had not been granted municipal council status. Given the needs of Ghugus's growing population and its future development, he said he had continuously worked to have a municipal council established there. These efforts succeeded and the Ghugus Municipal Council was set up, giving a bigger boost to the town's civic amenities and development work.

According to Jorgewar, the Ghugus flyover and now this rural hospital are important milestones in the town's development. He said his efforts to make Ghugus a more developed town by providing good basic infrastructure, healthcare and essential civic amenities to its people would continue. MLA Kishor Jorgewar said on the occasion that he remained fully committed to keeping up this pace of development and fulfilling people's expectations.
