Rural hospital opens in Ghugus, Jorgewar says pace of development quickens
Guardian minister Ashok Uike inaugurated a rural hospital in Ghugus, which MLA Kishor Jorgewar said would end residents' dependence on Chandrapur for treatment.
People of Ghugus will no longer have to make repeated trips to Chandrapur for treatment. A rural hospital built under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan was inaugurated by guardian minister Prof. Dr. Ashok Uike. MLA Kishor Jorgewar said on the occasion that he had persistently followed up to ensure good healthcare facilities for the citizens of Ghugus, and that with the hospital now starting operations, people of the area would benefit directly.
The programme was attended by guardian minister Dr. Prof. Ashok Uike, along with MLAs Devrao Bhongle and Karan Deotale, as well as local public representatives, officials, office-bearers and a large number of citizens. Jorgewar said Ghugus's population had crossed 50,000, and given the area's growing population and health needs, a strong healthcare facility was urgently needed. He said that with the hospital now in service, people of Ghugus and surrounding areas would gain major benefit, especially since the need to travel to Chandrapur for emergency treatment would now be reduced, with healthcare available locally.
Recounting Ghugus's overall development, Jorgewar said that for many years the area's administration was run through the gram panchayat. Despite the population crossing 50,000, the town had not been granted municipal council status. Keeping in mind the needs of Ghugus's growing population and its future development, he said he had made continuous efforts to get a municipal council established there, and those efforts succeeded with the setting up of the Ghugus Municipal Council, which expanded the scope of the town's civic amenities and development works.
He further said that the Ghugus flyover and now this rural hospital were important milestones in the town's development. He said his efforts would continue to make Ghugus a more developed town by providing better basic facilities, healthcare and essential civic amenities, and that he remained fully committed to meeting citizens' expectations while maintaining this pace of development.
