The Disha Salian case is back in the headlines, and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Aditya Thackeray has finally had to break his silence on it. Disha Salian's father Satish Salian, in his statement to the CBI on Tuesday, named Aditya Thackeray along with some Bollywood actors and police officers. Satish Salian claimed that Aditya Thackeray's name appears in the FIR, after which the issue heated up again in state politics.

Responding to this, Aditya Thackeray put out a post on X in which he clearly stated that he has nothing to do with the case of Disha Salian's death. He said he never met Disha Salian and did not know her. In the post, Aditya Thackeray wrote that to stop this chain of rumours he is stating only facts, and that he never met Disha Salian nor had any acquaintance with her.

Aditya Thackeray alleged that for the past six years, certain people have deliberately tried to link his name to this unfortunate incident, without any evidence or connection, out of political motives, personal enmity and an intent to malign his character.

He also said this false campaign, being run continuously without any facts or truth, is unfortunate. False debates raised as noise on TV channels and media trials cannot change the truth. Matters run on big TV channels and in the media cannot change the facts. He demanded that a fresh official investigation be kept free of misleading allegations made with political motives, and that authorities be allowed to investigate the case afresh, fairly and without any hindrance, political interference or character assassination.

Further in the post, Aditya Thackeray said that if anyone thinks such character assassination and false propaganda can silence him and his party, that is their delusion. He said his fight for the truth, against injustice and alongside the people of the country will continue.
