Farmer stopped, beaten with stick in Sawkhed Bhoi over money dispute

A farmer was allegedly stopped on the road and beaten severely following a dispute over a money transaction in Sawkhed Bhoi village of Deulgaon Raja taluka. Based on a complaint filed by Soham Balu Mane (31, resident of Sawkhed Bhoi), a case has been registered against Ravindra Arjun Magar (36, resident of Sawkhed Bhoi) at Deulgaon Raja police station.

The complainant has alleged that the accused used a wooden stick to beat him. The complaint also states that the accused damaged the complainant's two-wheeler.

According to the police complaint, on September 14, 2026, between around 9:30 am and 10:30 am, Soham Mane was returning home from his farm on his motorcycle. The complaint states that the accused, Ravindra Magar, stopped him in front of the Maroti temple in Sawkhed Bhoi. The incident in front of the temple then took a serious turn.

The accused allegedly picked a quarrel with the complainant over a money transaction, and the dispute escalated. The accused initially slapped and punched the complainant. The dispute then worsened further, and the complaint alleges that the accused struck the complainant on the head, right leg and right hand with a wooden stick, meaning the stick struck three different parts of the body, according to the complaint.

The accused's anger did not stop after the assault. The complaint states that the accused also struck the complainant's motorcycle with the wooden stick, damaging it. The complainant has claimed the vandalism caused damage worth an estimated Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 to the two-wheeler.

The complainant's written complaint also alleges that the accused hurled abuse in obscene language and threatened to kill him. The complainant has stated that the accused had also threatened to kill him on earlier occasions, indicating that the dispute between the two predates this incident.

These allegations of threats and assault are currently based on the complainant's version, and a final picture will emerge only after investigation.

Police have registered a case against the accused, Ravindra Magar, under various sections, and the investigation is being carried out by police head constable Sanjay Gore (buckle number 2155).
