CTET exam on December 12-13, admit card two days before
CBSE announces dates for the 22nd CTET exam, while YCMOU gets UGC approval for fully online BCom and MCA courses
There is important news for candidates hoping to become teachers. The 22nd Central Teacher Eligibility Test, or CTET, will be held on December 12 and 13, 2026. The official dates have been announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education, or CBSE.
Information on which candidate has to appear for the paper in which city and on which day will be uploaded on the official CTET portal 15 days before the exam. Candidates will be able to check these details by visiting the portal. Besides this, the admit card giving the exact address of the exam centre will be made available for download only two days before the exam. The board has asked candidates to carefully check the exam centre details given on the admit card and plan their travel accordingly, so that there is no problem on the day of the exam.
Meanwhile, another major update has come from Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. The University Grants Commission, or UGC, has approved the university to run BCom and MCA courses entirely online. This means students will now be able to complete this degree and postgraduate course from home. Notably, no limit has been placed on the admission capacity for either course, which makes this a big opportunity for interested students.
This information was given by the university's vice-chancellor, Dr Sanjeev Sonawane. He said the university is already running online courses such as BCA and MBA. With BCom and MCA now also approved, the scope of online education will expand further. The university had been preparing for these courses for the past two years.
Video lectures have been prepared according to the credits of the course. Each video will be seven to ten minutes long, and after watching it fully, students will have to solve a related question and answer set. Only after passing that will the next video open. One mentor will be assigned for every 100 students, who will guide students through WhatsApp and email. Exams will be conducted through online proctoring. The admission process for these courses is expected to begin soon.
