Munganitwar leads 76-foot cake cut by 35 girls at PM Modi birthday event in Chandrapur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday was celebrated with enthusiasm at Gandhi Chowk in Chandrapur. At an event led by MLA Sudhir Munganitwar, an "aashirwad ka diva" (lamp of blessings) was lit for Modi's long life. The joy on the faces of young girls and chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" filled the venue.

Carrying the message of "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao," the birthday was marked by cutting a 76-foot cake, with MLA Munganitwar's granddaughter Shurvi and 35 other young girls taking part.

The event was attended by many office-bearers, workers and a large number of women, including municipal corporation mayor Sangeetatai Khandekar, former Forest Development Corporation chairman Chandan Singh Chandel, BJP district president Harish Sharma, Sapnatai Munganitwar, general secretary Dr Mangesh Gulwade, Ravi Lonkar, Jayashreetai Jumde, Chhabutai Vairagade, Sunitatai Jaiswal, Savitatai Sarkar, Prajwalant Kadu, Brijbhushan Pazare, Suraj Pedulwar, Prakash Dharane, Vishal Nimbalkar, Mugdhatai Khande, Namrata Themaskar and Shubhangitai Sharma.

Speaking at the event, MLA Sudhir Munganitwar said the "lamp of blessings" was not just a lamp but Chandrapur's blessing that service should reach the last person in the country, happiness should come to the homes of the poor and development should light up the lives of the deprived. He said he had prayed at Mahadev's feet that Prime Minister Modi should continue his service to the nation and be blessed with good health and a long life. He also appealed to every citizen to resolve that over the next 365 days, they would carry the light of development wherever there is darkness around them.

Referring to central government schemes for the poor and deprived, Munganitwar named the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and PM Vishwakarma Yojana. He said these schemes had given the poor bank accounts, brought gas connections and toilets to homes, provided health cover, given farmers financial help, brought piped water and given the common man a chance to live with dignity.

Citing the concepts of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas," "Atmanirbhar Bharat" and "Vocal for Local," Munganitwar also referred to the success of Chandrayaan-3. He said India was no longer a country that follows the world but one that takes the world along as it moves forward. He also noted that Modi works with the belief that Parliament House is not merely a building but a temple of democracy, and that the public is a part of God.

Speaking about Chandrapur's development, Munganitwar said 474 kilometres of national highway had been built in the district, giving momentum to infrastructure development. He said efforts would continue to ensure central and state government scheme benefits reach the last person in the district.

At the event, Shurvi and 35 girls wearing masks of Modi's image cut the 76-foot cake. The message "If the daughter moves forward, the country will move forward" was given on the occasion. MLA Munganitwar extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Modi on behalf of Chandrapur district and prayed at Mahakali's feet for his good health and long life.
