BJP launches month-long 'Seva Sankalp' drive with 5,800 lamps for Modi's birthday
Chandrapur BJP lit 5,800 lamps across the city and 390 booths to mark PM Modi's birthday and launch a month of service activities.
The Bharatiya Janata Party will run various social and service activities across Chandrapur municipal district for a month. Marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public life of service, dedication and nation-building, the BJP has launched the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', which will run from September 17 to October 17, 2026. Various service, social and awareness activities have been organised across Chandrapur city during this month-long period.
The campaign began on Modi's birthday, September 17, at 7 pm with a special initiative called 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' (Lamp of Blessings). The BJP's Chandrapur municipal district lit lamps at various locations across the city and its surroundings to convey blessings and good wishes for Modi. A total of 5,800 lamps were lit across Chandrapur city, the Mahakali temple premises and 390 booths. The event was held with enthusiasm in the presence of MLA Kishore Jorgewar.
Under the special citywide programme, 125 lamps were lit at each of the following locations: the BJP's municipal office, the Mata Mahakali temple in Chandrapur city, the Vishal Mahashivling, the Shri Swami Samarth Bal Sanskar Kendra in Tukum, the BJP office in Ghugus city, the Panchmukhi Hanuman temple in Pandharkawada, and the Shri Hanuman temple at Padli Chowk on Nagpur Road. In this way, a total of 875 lamps were lit at the citywide level.
MLA Kishore Jorgewar was present at the 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' programme held at the Mata Mahakali temple and the BJP's municipal office. He said that through the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, various service, social and awareness activities would be carried out across Chandrapur municipal district for a month.
In addition, the 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' initiative was carried out at booth level across 390 booths in the Chandrapur assembly constituency. In the Tukum mandal, 600 lamps were lit at 58 booths; in the Bengali Camp mandal, 550 lamps at 54 booths; in the Babupeth mandal, 550 lamps at 57 booths; in the Bazar mandal, 700 lamps at 77 booths; in the Civil mandal, 600 lamps at 61 booths; in the Chandrapur Rural mandal, 500 lamps at 55 booths; and in the Ghugus City mandal, 300 lamps at 33 booths. At each of these mandals, local workers carried out the lamp-lighting to complete the initiative.
In all, 875 lamps at the citywide programme and 4,925 lamps at booth level made up a total of 5,800 lamps lit. BJP office-bearers, booth chiefs and workers put in effort to make the initiative a success. In the coming stages of the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, more social and awareness activities will be carried out across Chandrapur municipal district.
