Russian leader says India can play big role in ending Russia-Ukraine war

India's foreign policy and diplomatic skill are being widely discussed in global politics these days. Speaking about the future of the war, Abhay Kumar Singh referred to history. "If we look at human history, it is clear that no war has ever been permanently ended by military force alone. In the end, all wars have ended through peace agreements and dialogue. So the Russia-Ukraine dispute too will end through a settlement," he said. He added that if India helps both Russia and Ukraine arrive at terms that respect each other's interests and dignity, both countries could respond positively. Given India's relationship with both nations, he expressed confidence that India could become a very important mediator in such a settlement.

In the conversation, Abhay Kumar Singh also spoke of the long-standing friendship between India and Russia. He said the relationship between the two countries is not limited to formal agreements between governments but has continued across generations, is built on trust, and is historical. Russia has always stood by India in difficult times, he said, and India too has maintained a balanced relationship with Russia on the world stage. High-level meetings and interactions between leaders in New Delhi will further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in trade, economy, energy and technology. He said India-Russia cooperation is important not just for Asia but for the stability of the whole world in a multipolar order.
