Newborn found abandoned by roadside in rain in Akola

A newborn was abandoned by the roadside amid heavy rain in the Naya Baidpura area of Muzaffarnagar locality in Akola city, causing panic in the neighbourhood. Amid the heavy rain, nearby residents suddenly heard the sound of a child crying. When people moved towards the direction the sound was coming from, they found a newborn lying alone and abandoned.

Local residents lost no time and immediately picked up the child. They took the baby to a safe place, shielding it from the rain. Those present at the scene were shocked and angered to see the child in this condition, wondering how anyone could abandon such a small life alone in the rain.

As soon as people learned of the incident, they immediately contacted the Ramdaspeth police station and reported the entire matter. On receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and took the newborn into their custody.

The police then took the child to the District Women's Hospital for treatment and necessary examination. The child's health is currently being monitored at the hospital and the condition is being watched closely. However, it is not yet clear who left the child there and what the reason behind it was.

Police have started investigating the case. Footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area is being examined to identify the person who abandoned the child. Police are also pursuing other leads in their investigation so that it can be established as soon as possible who left the newborn alone in the rain.
