Apple launches iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max and foldable Duo in India
Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max open September 12, while the foldable iPhone Duo goes on sale October 23.
Apple has launched three new phones in India together: the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the company's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. The three models differ considerably from each other in design and features.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will begin soon, though pre-orders are not yet available for the foldable Duo. Apple has set a starting price of 1,199 dollars for the iPhone 18 Pro, while the Pro Max will cost more depending on the variant. The company says buyers will not have to wait long to get the new phone in hand.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will begin on September 12, 2026. From that date, customers will be able to book through the Apple Store online or the Apple Store app. Apple will begin shipping the first units of both models from September 18, 2026, meaning those who pre-order will not have to wait long after launch.
Pre-orders are not currently available for the iPhone Duo. According to the company, this foldable phone will go on sale directly in stores from October 23, 2026, meaning those wanting to buy it will have to wait until October.
On pricing, the iPhone 18 Pro is priced at Rs 1.19 lakh in India, the iPhone 18 Pro Max at Rs 1.29 lakh, and the foldable iPhone Duo at Rs 2.99 lakh.
On features, the iPhone Duo is being launched worldwide with eSIM support only. It has a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR foldable display, 80 per cent larger than the iPhone 18 Pro's 6.3-inch screen. The inner screen is made of custom polymer with a tough glass coating. The phone also has a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR cover display, with Ceramic Shield protection on the outer screen and back panel. It runs iOS 27, specially designed for the iPhone Duo.
The iPhone Duo is powered by a new A20 Pro chipset built on a 2nm process. It has a six-core CPU with two new super cores delivering 20 per cent faster performance, along with four new efficiency cores. The A20 Pro chipset also has a 32-core dual neural engine setup, which the company says delivers better performance and 8-bit floating-point support.
On cameras, the iPhone Duo has a dual rear camera setup, with the same 48-megapixel Fusion camera as the iPhone 18 Pro, along with a 12-megapixel telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom. The phone supports video recording up to 4K at 120fps. It has a Center Stage camera at the front, while the foldable screen has an under-display FaceTime camera.
Apple says the iPhone Duo offers all-day battery life. On a single charge, video playback can last up to 31 hours using the inner screen, up to 44 hours using the cover screen, and up to 22 hours using both screens together. The company says just five minutes of charging can provide up to five hours of video playback.
