Police have arrested the accused in a case of a life-threatening attack on constable buckle number 1939, posted at Savner police station, on September 16. Aman Asaram Dhanole, who lives near Haribhau Admane College, was arrested in the case.

The constable had gone to the accused's house to file a report about a crime that had taken place the day before. During this, the accused attacked him with a thick plastic pipe, leaving the constable seriously injured. The incident caused an uproar in the entire police department. The accused fled immediately after the attack, following which Savner police kept a close watch at various locations to catch him.

The incident raised questions about the ability of Savner police station officers to keep a check on criminal activity in the town. Local residents said that if illegal operators dare to beat up the police themselves, it is unclear what the safety of ordinary citizens would look like. Following the incident, citizens and residents of the area under Savner police station have expressed anger and concern over the law and order situation, particularly regarding corrupt and criminally inclined people who do not hesitate to openly attack the police.

Police arrested the accused, Aman Asaram Dhanole, on the charge of brutally beating the constable. The same thick plastic pipe used in the crime, with which he attacked the constable, was also seized from him. During questioning, the accused confessed to the crime.

Based on the medical report of the complainant, the injured constable, Section 109(1) of the Indian Penal Code was added to the case. The accused was subsequently produced before the Savner court. Police said strict action would be taken in such cases to ensure the safety of police personnel and maintain law and order.
