92-year-old man beaten, robbed of gold chains and cash in Nagpur
Two accused broke into an elderly man's home in Nagpur's Rameshwari area and robbed him after beating him for refusing to hand over cash.
A 92-year-old man was robbed in the Ajni police station area of Nagpur after being beaten by two men, who then snatched two gold chains and some cash from him before fleeing.
Ajni police have registered a robbery case against one named accused and an unidentified accomplice, and have begun an investigation. Police identified the victim as Bapurao Sadashiv Kumbhare, 92.
According to the complaint, the incident took place around 1:30 am on September 17 at the victim's home in Parvati Nagar in the Rameshwari area.
Police said the accused, Aryan Dhiraj Gaikwad, along with an unidentified accomplice, went to the elderly man's house. The two allegedly asked him for just 20 rupees. When he refused to give them the money, they began beating him with their hands and fists.
After the assault, the accused forcibly snatched his two gold chains and the cash he had with him, and fled the scene with the stolen items.
Following the complaint, Ajni police have registered a case against Aryan Dhiraj Gaikwad and his unidentified accomplice under sections related to robbery. Both accused are currently absconding. Police are working to identify the second accused and recover the stolen items.
