Marathwada Liberation Day inspiring for new generation: Hansraj Ahir
Former union minister of state for home Hansraj Ahir said the day marking liberation from Nizam rule remains a source of inspiration.
On the occasion of Marathwada Liberation Day in Chandrapur, former union minister of state for home Hansraj Ahir said the day that brought freedom from the oppressive rule of the Nizams is a major celebration for everyone. He noted that the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi also falls on the same day. According to Ahir, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Narendra Modi have made a major contribution to the nation's progress, and their work of serving the country will continue to inspire citizens forever. He said the Liberation Day event would always show the way for present and future generations.
Ahir made these remarks on September 17, 2026, while hoisting the flag at Rajura, Jiwati and Korpana on the occasion of Rajura Liberation Day. Former Rajura MLAs Sudarshan Nimkar and advocate Sanjay Dhote, municipal council president Nilesh Tajne, and a large number of BJP office-bearers and workers were present at the event.
In his speech, Hansraj Ahir said that during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 12 years in office, the country has seen unprecedented development in every sector. Praising his work, Ahir called on BJP office-bearers and workers to mark the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan being run by the party on the Prime Minister's birthday through various activities.
He said that for many years, farmland and settlements in Jiwati taluka had been caught within forest land, which had stalled development work in the taluka, leaving residents and farmers without access to development facilities. He said it was a matter of great satisfaction that the state government had corrected this injustice by taking the major decision to remove thousands of hectares of land from forest land, resulting in success for efforts made in this regard. Ahir also said several problems still remain, and he would keep trying to resolve them.
According to Ahir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has delivered justice to the people of the country while following constitutional principles. Whether in education or health, farming or industry, internal security or national security, he has awakened the self-respect of citizens in every area and raised India's image across the world. Ahir said it was the country's good fortune to have leadership as great as Narendra Modi.
Ahir said Modi has delivered the benefits of hundreds of schemes to ordinary people. The ambitious Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Har Ghar Jal scheme and housing schemes have transformed the country. Ahir also said it was the Prime Minister's hallmark to have brought relief to crores of people by cutting the prices of medicines for serious illnesses and to have benefited all sections of society by cutting GST rates.
On the occasion, a cake was cut to mark Narendra Modi's birthday and wishes were extended for his long life. Under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, notebooks and laddoos were distributed to schoolchildren in Rajura, Korpana and Jiwati. Sanitation workers of Rajura and Korpana were also felicitated.
