A startling case has emerged from Kalyan that began as a complaint about trouble from a neighbour and has now raised questions about the man's citizenship itself. A woman named Salma Khan has filed a complaint about this at Kalyan's Bazarpeth police station.

In her complaint, the woman has made serious allegations against her neighbour, Haneef Garagewala. She claims that he is not an Indian citizen but an African national. The complaint also alleges that he prepared forged documents to start living in India.

After receiving the complaint, Bazarpeth police began investigating the matter. According to the complainant, police gave her a letter after the inquiry stating that the person concerned is not an Indian citizen. However, the official investigation has not yet reached a final conclusion on what his actual citizenship is, his legal status for staying in India, and the validity of the documents he holds.

The woman has asked that if the investigation proves he is not an Indian citizen, then on what basis he was living in India. The complaint also demands that if he holds an Aadhaar card, voter ID or other Indian documents, their validity should also be checked.

The complainant has demanded that if the documents turn out to be forged, it should also be established where and how they were made, who else helped in the process, and how the related entries came to be made in the government system. She has sought a thorough investigation into all these aspects.

The woman has further demanded that all documents and citizenship-related aspects concerning the man's stay in India be examined, and that action be taken under the law if any irregularity is found.
