Six years after actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide sparked a series of allegations and counter-allegations, the death of his former secretary Disha Salian, who died by suicide shortly before him, is back in focus. Opposition parties had then questioned whether it was suicide or murder, and Aditya Thackeray's name was linked to the case. There is now a fresh demand for a new investigation into Disha Salian's death, with her father and lawyers alleging that it was not suicide but murder.

Disha Salian's father has recorded a statement before the CBI naming former minister Aditya Thackeray, former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and some other senior leaders. In his statement, the father has alleged that his daughter was gang-raped and murdered. The CBI has registered a case based on this statement, though the agency did not name anyone while registering the case.

Responding to this, Aditya Thackeray posted on his Twitter account rejecting the allegations outright. He wrote that he was stating the facts again, only to stop the smoke of rumours. He said, "I never met Disha Salian and had no acquaintance with her." Aditya Thackeray alleged that for the past six years, certain people have been deliberately trying to link his name to this unfortunate incident without any evidence or connection, driven by political motives, personal enmity and an intent to assassinate his character.

Aditya Thackeray said this continuing false campaign, without any facts or truth, was unfortunate. According to him, false debates conducted merely by raising noise on television channels and media trials cannot change the truth. He demanded that official agencies be allowed to investigate the matter afresh without any obstruction, political interference, character assassination or bias.

Aditya Thackeray further said that if anyone believes they will silence him through character assassination and false propaganda, that is their delusion. He said his fight for truth and against injustice, together with the people of the country, would continue.
