Times Group MD Vineet Jain calls Dhaara script flawless

There is huge anticipation among fans for the upcoming film Dhaara, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Ever since its trailer released, the film has been the talk of the town, with people eagerly awaiting its arrival in theatres.

The film, directed by National Award winning director Meghna Gulzar, is set to release in theatres on September 18. Ahead of the release, the makers held a press conference at which Times Group MD Vineet Jain made an important remark about Dhaara.

At the press conference, Vineet Jain said cinema is often not limited to entertainment alone. According to him, powerful stories can reach millions of people and spark intense debate. He called the story of Dhaara completely flawless, saying it is rooted in real life and raises several questions that will unsettle audiences.

Vineet Jain said, "A story, especially cinema, is an extremely powerful medium to reach millions of people and influence their thinking. For us, a film is not just entertainment, it is a strong medium to connect with people and society."

On what he liked about the story of Dhaara when he first heard it, Vineet Jain said, "When I first heard the story of Dhaara, I found it completely right and flawless. This story is rooted in real life and makes for a powerful film. This film raises several unsettling questions that will make people think. I am confident that when people walk out of the theatre, these unsettling questions will stay with them."

Explaining the reason behind making the film, Vineet Jain further said, "These questions will be discussed, debated, and people will share their opinions. This was also a big reason behind making this film."

Dhaara, directed by National Award winning filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, is a crime thriller. The film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as DCP Ajuni Kohli and Prithviraj Sukumaran as DCP Raman Kumar. The story revolves around two police officers who both want justice, but take different paths to get it.
